As COVID-19 sweeps across our world, doctors, nurses, and other first responders are placed at the frontlines of this pandemic. Both emotionally and physically, they are taxed by this experience. It’s hard to imagine but in New York alone, there are 200,000+ confirmed cases of the virus and nearly 20,000 confirmed deaths. To us, it’s a saddening number, but to those working the frontlines of COVID, it’s working up to 12 hours to provide for patients and witnessing as some slowly recover and some are unable to. The flow of patients flooding into hospitals in New York surpassed the number of medical professionals and equipment who could provide for them; to help with the cause, many doctors from across the country flew to New York to offer their help.

This video opened our eyes on the physical and emotional toll this pandemic takes on doctors and the reality they face through treating their patients. The video follows the life of Arghavan Salles, a Californian surgeon, who volunteered 14 days at a NYC hospital. Here is her story and it really is worth listening to. We appreciate the selfless actions by her and we salute all frontliners!!
